So far, more than 50,000 visitors have enjoyed the cultural offerings of the free “Kultursommer Wien” festival.
According to the motto “Get out of the bubble”, supposed opposites often collided in the evenings: Viennese Schrammel music met modern hip-hop sound, drag and voguing shows transformed the football field of ASK Erlaa into a stage. The audience is as colorful as the schedule: from families from the neighborhood to young culture fans to long-established scene connoisseurs, a wide variety of people gather around the stages.
Cultural Summer Vienna: It continues from Thursday
Until August 13, the festival offers over 250 acts from the fields of cabaret, literature, music, performance, dance, theater and contemporary circus as well as a program for young audiences. Highlights in the next few weeks at the Vienna Cultural Summer
Highlights of the next few weeks include the musical acrobatic show by the Freestyle Orchestra at Schrödingerplatz (July 27, 6:30 p.m.) or the parodic performance theater “ChatGPT Gone Wild” by Lulu Schmidt x D#Avantgarde at the water tower in Favoriten (August 4, 6:30 p.m.). In the Meischlgasse ASK Erlaa meet with rapper Evan Parks and the Schlager band musical opposites may collide. What connects the two: The audience is asked to dance. To avoid exhaustion from dancing, hungry people can gather strength with spritzers, sausages and other snacks in the ASK Erlaa clubhouse. Full capacity at Kultursommer Plus in Vienna
Brand new this year is the Summer of Culture Plus programme from workshops, talks and the like. So far, the hands-on formats have had 100% occupancy. For the formats that require registration, such as the theater workshop, the book and listening picnics, there are still free places left in the coming weeks.
