The President of the Transition, Supreme Chief of the Armed Forces, His Excellency Colonel Mamadi Doumbouya, welcomed his distinguished guest, His Excellency Mr. Paul Kagame, at Ahmed Sékou Touré International Airport, this Monday, April 17, 2023.The President of the The Republic of Rwanda thus responds to the invitation of its Guinean counterpart, Colonel Mamadi Doumbouya, for a 48-hour friendly and working visit.
It was around 7 p.m. that the presidential plane with on board his Excellency Mr. Paul Kagamé treaded the tarmac of the Ahmed Sékou Touré International Airport (AST), accompanied by a strong and large delegation.
After the national anthems, the two Heads of State greeted government officials, the high military hierarchy, republican institutions and the diplomatic corps before heading to the presidential pavilion. At the end of a very warm first tete-a-tete in the honor lounge of the presidential pavilion at AST airport, between two pragmatic leaders who appreciate each other and who have in common a vision of an Africa worthy of , emancipated and who must have a valid influence on the international scene, the Rwandan President briefly addressed the media.
His Excellency Paul Kagame said he was very happy to be in Guinea at the invitation of the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, Colonel Mamadi Doumbouya. Satisfied with the welcome given to him, he expressed his willingness to work with Guinea within the framework of open cooperation.
Finally, he in turn wished to welcome the Head of State, Colonel Mamadi Doumbouya, to Rwanda very soon.
This visit by the President of Rwanda comes in a pivotal context with the initiation of a process of institutional rectification and rebuilding of the State initiated on September 5, 2021. It also reflects the dynamism of African cooperation and the openness of Guinea in favor of regional and pan-African dynamics.
Colonel Mamadi Doumbouya who makes the refoundation of the Guinean State a priesthood is in the process of winning his bet in view of his many achievements throughout the country. Deeply rebuilding Guinea while inscribing it on the path of national reconciliation, autonomy and emergence, such is the real challenge of President Mamadi Doumbouya.
From the 1994 genocide to the reunification of the country, Rwanda has been able to recover, assume and rebuild itself before asserting itself as an African reference. This is why the Rwandan model fascinates Colonel President Mamadi Doumbouya. The two Heads of State intend to create a bridge between the Conakry-Kigali axis in order to build poles of emergence and emancipation of African cooperation by capitalizing on the African potential, coveted by all the great powers. This requires the strengthening and strengthening of bilateral relations between Guinea and Rwanda, one of the main objectives of this visit.
