Actress Kim Shin-bi (30), following the appointment of the pure charm of ‘Cheer Up’, took an active role as a key player in ‘Demon’ and once once more impressed viewers.

The SBS drama ‘Ghost’ (script Kim Eun-hee, director Lee Jung-rim), which ended last July, is a Korean-style occult mystery in which a woman possessed by demons, Goo San-young (Kim Tae-ri), and a man who can see evil spirits, Yeom Hae-sang (Oh Jeong-se), uncover the mysterious deaths. all. In this work, Kim Shin-bi played the part of Yeom Hae-sang’s cohabitant and hungry ghost, Kim Woo-jin.

While ‘Ghost’ was loved by recording audience ratings of 10% (Nielsen Korea, national standard) throughout the broadcast, viewers were curious regarding Kim Woo-jin’s identity from the beginning of the play.

Introduced as ‘Yeom Hae-sang’s cohabitant’, he raised doubts by speaking casually to Yeom Hae-sang, who was wearing a school uniform but had a big age difference.

When asked if Kim Shin-bi knew that Kim Woo-jin was an ghost from the beginning, she replied, “At first, I only knew he wasn’t human.”

“I was curious regarding what viewers would think of Kim Woo-jin. Some people speculated that she was a young mariner, while others believed that she was a guardian deity who had been protecting the house for a long time. Such diverse perspectives were fresh and fun. Because she thinks that the character Kim Woo-jin serves as a mechanism to arouse curiosity, she seems to be more sensitive to the reaction.”

Kim Woo-jin became a key player by providing clues regarding the ‘demon’. Gu San-young, who came to Yeom Hae-sang’s house, was confused when she recognized herself differently from before, and she told Gu San-young to find Choi Man-wol with information that she knew the person who created the demon. Later, it was also revealed that Kim Woo-jin was Yeom Hae-sang’s friend in the past and was murdered following learning Na Byung-hee’s (Kim Hae-sook) secret.

Shinbi Kim said, “The point where I had to act between people and ghosts was the most worrying. It was difficult for her to change from Kim Woo-jin’s eyes to the eyes of a ghost from moment to moment, and it was not easy as it was her first time acting while imagining a CG scene. As she questioned the director regarding that part, she created the character Kim Woo-jin,” she recalled.

He said that he had troubles not only with the inner part of Kim Woo-jin, but also with the external expression. Having to play a student wearing a school uniform at the age of 30.

“I played the role of a college student in ‘Cheer Up’, but this time I’m playing a high school student. During ‘Cheer Up’, I carefully asked the director, ‘Can I take on this character at my age?’, but the director gave me courage. Before filming, I was worried regarding whether people would understand it, but following filming, I came to believe it. I think I was able to come out with the character I am today because the director gave me the courage to say that it was okay even in ‘Ghost’.”

When asked if she had any worries because of her youthful appearance, Shinbi Kim smiled and said, “Thank you.” She continued, “Of course I am grateful, but on the one hand, I think it would be great if I had the opportunity to play a role with a strong personality or a character with a strong personality and color. She has a desire to show viewers another side of herself,” she said.

Kim Shin-bi, who worked with her peers in her previous work, ‘Cheer Up’, which was set in a college cheering squad, acted with great seniors such as Oh Jeong-se and Kim Hae-sook in ‘The Devil’. When asked what the atmosphere was like on set, he said, “I was cautious because there are many seniors and I grew up watching the works of those seniors. However, during the first shoot, Oh Jung-se came up to her first and joked with her to lighten her mood. Thanks to that, I was able to enjoy filming.”

Among them, the person who worked the most was Oh Jeong-se. Regarding working with Oh Jeong-se, Kim Shin-bi said, “It was so fun” and “I want to see you in another work with a different role.” “Oh Jung-se talks softly and makes a lot of witty jokes. Even so, he becomes serious when he enters the set. Seeing that, she was able to learn things like her attitude on set.”

“There was an interesting episode on the day we were filming the scene where Kim Woo-jin dies in place of Yeom Hae-sang on the bridge. She was waiting with Oh Jeong-se, and the senior made a gesture as if something was falling from above. I was also surprised and avoided it, but when I looked, there was nothing. At that time, Oh Jeong-se said, ‘I have to act like this’. It was a chilling moment.”

He also revealed his impressions of seeing Kim Tae-ri’s acting, which was well-received for his ‘exciting acting ability’. Kim Shin-bi said, “Kim Tae-ri is pleasant and laughs a lot. Even though she has a pleasant conversation before filming, her eyes change instantly when filming starts.

It was cool that way. Even when I talked with the director, I only felt that it was very cool.”

Shinbi Kim said that she learned a lot while acting with many seniors in ‘Ghost’. When she asked him if she had any role models, she replied, “No.”

“I have no intention of becoming like any other actor. All seniors have different charms and cool parts, so I think we are at the stage where we are making that standard now. I am grateful that I can learn good things through this work. The ultimate goal is to become an actor who acts for a long time next to the audience by worrying and preparing hard like before and now. (Laughs)”
