On the 1st, Ukrainian ambassador to Korea Dmitro Ponomarenko released a check and a letter of 100 million won by Lee Young-ae to the people of Ukraine on Twitter.
In the letter, Lee Young-ae said, “As a family of war veterans, I feel the horror of war more deeply than anyone else.
“I pray for the well-being and safety of all Ukrainians,” he said.
Ambassador Ponomarenko said, “I was moved by Lee Young-ae’s letter and financial donation. The donation will be used for victims of the Russian invasion.”
It is known that Lee Young-ae’s father was a veteran of the Korean War, and her father-in-law was a veteran of the Vietnam War.
