US President Joe Biden said on the 17th (local time) that the threat of a Russian invasion of Ukraine was “very high”.
Prior to his visit to Cleveland, Ohio, President Biden met with reporters at the White House on the same day, noting that Russia is moving its troops and that it might attempt a ‘disguised operation’.
When asked regarding the timing of Russia’s invasion, President Biden predicted, “Not right now. It will be in the next few days.”
When asked if a diplomatic solution was still possible, Biden said, “Yes. We are waiting for President Vladimir Putin’s response to our letter.” “I have no plans to talk to Putin right now,” he added.
