The government has secured an additional 400,000 doses of COVID-19 treatment (oral treatment).
The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) announced on the 5th that it has signed an additional purchase contract with Pfizer of Korea for 400,000 doses of oral COVID-19 treatment.
The total number of edible medicines for which the government has completed the pre-purchase contract by this day is 1004,000 people, including the 604,000 contracts signed last month and the amount announced on the day.
By this day, by pharmaceutical company, Pfizer and Merck & Company (MSD) have signed a purchase contract for a total of 762,000 people and a total of 242,000 people.
The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) said, “After finalizing details such as the initial quantity and introduction schedule, we will guide the introduction and use of oral therapeutics within the next week.
The Korea Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (KCDC) believes that the treatment will be effective in responding to the recently spreading Omicron mutation, and plans to continue reviewing future treatment plans and additional purchases.
