With the first frost observed more than a month early following a record-breaking September heatwave, concerns are growing that winter’s cold may arrive earlier than expected.

The Korea Meteorological Administration recently released its three-month weather outlook from October to December.

We’ll connect with our reporter to find out more details.

The weather has been so unusual lately that I’m worried about the weather for the rest of fall and early winter.

How did you see it?

Yes, the Korea Meteorological Administration recently released a ‘3-month outlook’ predicting the weather for October, November, and December.

October was expected to be hotter than usual, and November was expected to be similar to usual.

December, when winter begins, is expected to be colder than usual.

First of all, it is predicted that temperatures will exceed average temperatures until October due to the influence of a mobile high-pressure system.

In particular, the difference between the highest temperature and the average temperature is expected to be around 5 degrees, and the number of days with abnormally high temperatures in the top 10% is expected to be more than 3 days per month, which is more than the average year.

However, from November, the weather will return to somewhat chilly autumn, similar to previous years, and from mid-November, cold air will temporarily move south, bringing an early cold spell.

In December, when winter begins, temperatures are expected to be similar to or lower than average.

Early winter is expected to start somewhat colder than usual.

The Korea Meteorological Administration said that temperatures may drop significantly in early winter as the cold continental high pressure expands.

In addition, due to topographical influences, it is forecast that there will be times when it snows on the west coast, so it seems that this region will need to prepare for heavy snow in the early winter cold.

But just because it’s cold at the beginning of winter doesn’t mean it’ll be cold all winter.

This is because there is a high possibility of transitioning to La Niña conditions in the fall, and temperature volatility is very high due to factors such as sea surface temperature and Arctic sea ice.

The Korea Meteorological Administration recently urged people to be thoroughly prepared for health management due to rapid temperature changes and unusual weather.
