British Prime Minister Liz Truss has announced that he will stick to the tax cuts that have caused the pound’s recent plunge.
However, there are also warnings that the government might lose even if it insists on a tax cut policy that has faced strong internal and external opposition.

The first thing that Liz Truss, who was elected as the leader of the Conservative Party in the UK on the 5th of last month, came up with was a drastic tax cut.

On the 23rd of last month, Prime Minister Truss presented a drastic tax cut of 70 trillion won, but without a ‘tax deficit measure’, as predicted.
As the value of the British pound plummeted due to a surge in national debt and concerns regarding inflation, the US and the International Monetary Fund also criticized it.
Although the tax cuts have led to skepticism regarding the nation’s fiscal management capabilities, Prime Minister Truss has reaffirmed its adherence to the policy.

The problem is that the policy stubbornness of the truss can pose a political risk.
In a recent opinion poll, Truss’s Conservative Party had less than half the approval rating of the leading opposition Labor Party.
There are already calls for no confidence in Truss among members of the ruling Conservative Party.
As a result, there is speculation that Truss might be replaced before the next general election in January 2025.
