US President Joe Biden has made it clear he intends to meet with Chinese President Xi Jinping in person.
If President Xi comes to the G20 summit in Indonesia in November, we will definitely meet.
President Xi is also expected to attend this year’s G20 meeting, so the first face-to-face meeting between the US and China leaders is highly probable.
Biden and Xi Jinping have only held five video or phone meetings so far and have not sat face to face.
Therefore, there is an expectation that the bilateral relations, which have been at a standstill since Chairman Pelosi’s visit to Taiwan, will be resolved.

The expected time for a face-to-face summit is mid-November, following the US midterm elections and China’s party congress.
Both the United States and China are less conscious of domestic public opinion and there is room for large-scale cooperation.
China has been asking the US to cut high tariffs on Chinese goods.
