Starting tomorrow, travelers arriving in the United States do not need to submit a negative COVID-19 test.

This comes following the U.S. government announced that it would abolish the requirement for testing for COVID-19 upon entry.

In Europe, a warning of corona respreading due to a sub-mutation with strong contagious power was issued this summer.

Travelers to the United States must present a negative confirmation issued within 24 hours.

The cost was around 100,000 won and there was a time constraint of less than 24 hours, so it was quite burdensome for travelers.

However, from now on, U.S. travelers can enter the country even without a COVID-19 test result.

The U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) announced that from the 12th eastern time, it will abolish the COVID-19 test requirement for travelers arriving by plane.

The US government is accommodating the airline industry’s demand that US inspection requirements are unnecessary regulations that stifle international travel.

In particular, it is argued that it is unreasonable to require only air passengers, although there is no need for a corona 19 test if they enter the United States via land from Canada and Mexico.

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has decided to reassess the situation every 90 days following the policy goes into effect.

If a new variant of concern emerges, which means that entry requirements need to be tightened once more, pre-departure screening will be re-executed.

The U.S. has recently reported around 100,000 confirmed cases of COVID-19 and 300 deaths per day.

In the midst of this, a warning has been issued in Europe that this summer, Corona 19 may re-spread due to a sub-mutation that has stronger transmission than the Omicron mutation.

Germany’s Robert Koch Institute pointed out that the number of infections with the Omicron sub-mutant in Germany has doubled compared to the previous week, and that “the number of confirmed cases will increase once more in the summer, and the infection pressure may intensify on vulnerable groups.”

The UK Statistical Office also said there are early signs of an increase in infections due to the spread of submutations.
