[국제]Qatar World Cup performance red light for the first time ever held in winter

[앵커]

This year’s Qatar World Cup will be held next month, in winter for the first time ever, given the desert weather.

However, due to human rights and environmental problems in Qatar, cities are boycotting one following another, and the reluctance of Russia and Iran is adding to the box office’s prospects.

The 2022 Qatar World Cup to be held in the winter in consideration of the country where the people died.

Authorities expect 1.2 million people from around the world to visit during the World Cup, which starts next month.

We have decided to operate 4,000 vehicles, including 3,000 new buses, and are busy with final preparations, such as checking traffic measures.

However, controversy over human rights violations, such as the sacrifice of many workers during the construction of the stadium, is a hindrance to its success.

Amnesty International, a global human rights group, estimates that at least 6,500 migrant workers have died so far.

For this reason, there are growing calls for a boycott if the Qatar government does not come up with any improvement measures.

In particular, France, the previous champion of the tournament, is the most active.

Major cities such as Paris, Lille and Strasbourg have announced that they will not broadcast on the streets one following another.

The Danish national team and uniform supplier Hummel have shown their antagonism by making the logo the same color as the uniform.

In particular, the national team players decided to minimize their local activities, such as not accompanying their families.

German Bundesliga club Hoffenheim has also announced a boycott of the World Cup.

The fact that the purpose of the festival as a global festival has changed is also a hindrance to the success of the festival, as Russia was eventually expelled due to antipathy to the invasion of Ukraine and voices were raised regarding the exclusion of the Iranian national team in relation to the ‘hijab protest’.
