The Chinese government is gradually lifting quarantine restrictions with the goal of lifting the lockdown in Shanghai, but citizens are tired of the long lockdown.

In the case of Beijing, the capital, quarantine regulations are continuing once more due to an increase in the number of confirmed cases.

Interest in ‘immigration’ is rapidly increasing among Chinese people who are worried regarding this or that.

Little by little, the frozen Shanghai started to come alive.

As the multi-use facility has not yet reopened, volunteers have set up a barber shop by the roadside, and negotiated prices at the grocery store.

However, there are only a few areas where even limited outing is possible.

In order to go outside, you have to get a pass that says ‘Only one person per household is allowed to go out’, which must be confirmed by a quarantine agent.

“I’ll mark it here. Please put your hands away.”

As for public transportation, only some routes have barely resumed operation, so it is unclear whether they will be able to reach their destination.

Under these circumstances, it is known that an increasing number of people want to leave Shanghai even following taking the cumbersome procedure.

As the number of confirmed cases in the capital, Beijing, also surged, and the possibility of a lockdown might not be ruled out, interest in ‘immigration’ in China is rapidly increasing recently.

On March 15, on Chinese social media ‘WeChat’, the keyword ‘immigrant’ was searched 16 million times, more than quadrupled in April, and more than 100 million times a day in May.

Those who are exhausted from the long-standing ‘zero corona’ policy are considering moving abroad as well as other cities.

The Chinese government has announced that it will allow only a minimum number of departures and is in a position to prevent the outflow of talent.
