To prevent Russia from waging war, Western countries are pressuring with a two-sided tactic of support and restraint.

As the year approaches, there are speculations that Russia will launch massive airstrikes.

Reporter Cho Yong-seong reports.

The European Union (EU) has introduced its 10th round of sanctions once morest Russia.

The goal is to block all export and import channels used for weapon systems, including fighter and drone parts.

Implementation is envisaged when it will be exactly one year following Russia declared the order to launch military operations.

NATO, the North Atlantic Treaty Organization, is focused on providing arms support to Ukraine.

First of all, they agreed to quickly deliver weapons, including main battle tanks, and decided to raise each country’s defense spending targets for the first time in 10 years to reflect the escalating security crisis.

The move to press once morest Russia is related to concerns that a major air strike is not far away.

This is because there are reports that Russia has assembled fighter jets and helicopters in the border area with Ukraine.

The appearance of Russian bombers and fighter jets is frequently spotted, and at the same time, criticism towards Western society continues, strengthening the observation that a major air strike is imminent.

The combination of large-scale Western arms support for Ukraine and Russia’s preparation for a major airstrike increases the likelihood of an all-out clash.
