50cm aluminum foam fell from the truck
Windshield blow ‘dizzy’
A 50cm aluminum foam that fell from a truck hit the windshield of a vehicle traveling on the highway, and the police pursued the vehicle.
On the 3rd, the National Police Agency posted on its official Facebook account an article and 4 photos with the title, ‘Suddenly flew from the highway’.
According to the post, regarding 50 cm wide and 20 cm long aluminum foam flew toward a vehicle on the Jungbu Expressway that connects Hanam City in Gyeonggi Province and Cheongju City in North Chungcheong Province. The aluminum foam completely penetrated the car’s windshield and was embedded at an angle towards the front passenger’s seat. More than half of the vehicle’s windshield was damaged in the accident.
The aluminum foam was loaded into a freight vehicle and fell, then bumped into another vehicle and bounced once. After that, he fell back into the victim’s vehicle.
Because CCTV was not installed at the accident site, it was difficult for the police to check the license plate of the attacked vehicle. However, there was a small sticker attached to the aluminum foam embedded in the victim’s vehicle that might infer the manufacturer. Police used this as a clue to identify the vehicle.
The National Police Agency said, “It was a serious situation that caused secondary damage because the truck did not properly secure the goods loaded in the vehicle.
“After finding a small sticker and asking around the country, we identified a related company, and following searching the area through clues, we succeeded in catching the suspect.”
