42% positive, 38% negative… For North Korean provocations, peaceful resolution is 67%, and military resolution 25%
On the 14th, a poll showed that President Yoon Seok-yeol’s approval rating for state government had stayed in the 20% range for four weeks in a row.
As a result of a Gallup Korea survey of 1,000 adults nationwide from the 11th to the 13th, 28% said that President Yoon was doing a good job, and 63% said he was doing it wrong.
Compared to last week’s survey, the positive evaluation decreased by 1 percentage point (p) (29% → 28%), and the negative evaluation was the same.
In a Gallup survey, the approval rate of President Yoon’s job has been hovering around 20% for the fourth week since the fourth week of September.
During the same period, the denial rate exceeded 60%.
The negative evaluators of job performance were ‘lack of experience and qualifications/incompetence’ (15%), ‘diplomacy’ (13%), ‘generally wrong’ (10%), ‘not looking at the economy and people’s livelihood’, ‘inattentive speech’, Reasons were ‘arbitrary/unilateral’ (more than 6%), ‘not sincere/lack of trust’, and ‘personal affairs’ (more than 5%).
The reasons for the positive evaluation were ‘defense/security’ (11%), ‘diplomacy’ (9%), ‘generally good’ (8%), ‘work hard/do your best’ (7%), ‘host/ ‘Confidence’, ‘Overcoming the previous government’ (more than 6%), and ‘Truth/honesty/no lies’ (4%) were shown in the order.
‘Don’t know/refuse to respond’ was 17%.
The party approval ratings were 38% for the Democratic Party, 32% for People’s Power, 25% for the non-party, and 3% for the Justice Party, respectively.
The Democratic Party’s approval rating rose 6 percentage points from last week, and the people’s power fell by 1 percentage point.
Regarding the amendment to the Government Organization Act, which would abolish the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family and transfer related functions to the Ministry of Health and Welfare, 42% responded ‘good’ and 38% ‘not good’, respectively.
About half of the male respondents (49%) liked the abolition of the Ministry of Leisure, and among women, only one in three (34%) did so.
By party support, 73% of the People’s Power supporters were positive regarding the abolition of the Ministry of Leisure and 64% of the supporters of the Democratic Party were negative.
Regarding military cooperation with Japan to counter the North Korean threat, 49% said ‘needed’ and 44% ‘not needed’, respectively.
As for North Korea’s response to nuclear and missile provocations, 67% said, ‘Efforts to find a peaceful and diplomatic solution should continue’, and ‘peaceful and diplomatic solutions are ineffective, so a military solution is needed” 25%.
The margin of error in this study is ±3.1%p at the 95% confidence level.
Wireless (90%) and landline (10%) telephone interviews were conducted, and the response rate was 11.2%.
