SONY today announced the 3rd generation portable air conditioner REON POCKET 3. This SONY portable air-conditioning product incorporates a new motion sensor, plus a temperature sensor, which can intelligently adjust the air-conditioning level from the temperature of the user and the environment, and the user’s actions (such as static or walking, exercise), without the need to operate a mobile phone. The newly added automatic switch function also allows users to use and remove it immediately without operating the mobile phone.

SONY REON POCKET 3 is a portable air conditioner that can be used as an air conditioner or a heater. It uses the stainless steel plate on the body to bring a cool or warm touch to the skin of the part of the body it touches, dissipating heat for users in hot weather, and cooling in cold weather. It can be hot when it is hot, and it can be used in winter or summer. The new model incorporates a motion sensor and an accelerometer to detect motion, which can sense when the user puts the device under the neck and automatically turn on the air-conditioning/heating function without the need to operate the mobile phone. And put REON POCKET on the table following use, it will stop working automatically following 15 seconds, and the user does not need to operate the mobile phone specially.

In addition, REON POCKET 3 has a built-in temperature sensing function. Combined with the above-mentioned motion sensor, it can intelligently adjust the air-conditioning performance, so as to adjust the most suitable temperature (smart keep warm is only applicable to the air-conditioning setting). For example, when sitting and resting, the output of air-conditioning performance is lower, and when walking or exercising in hot outdoor weather, the air-conditioning performance will be automatically increased. SONY refers to the cooling machine designed through hundreds of simulations, so that the device can effectively cool or warm the user’s skin.
SONY means that REON POCKET is equipped with a thermoelectric module called Peltier element. A Peltier element is a semiconductor module. When electricity is passed, one side of the body cools and the other heats up. When using the air-conditioning function, REON POCKET uses a fan to dissipate the heat energy inside the body to keep the user cool.

SMART COOL MODE
According to the temperature in the clothes, walking or standing still, movement and temperature preferences, etc., it automatically adjusts the temperature of the heating and cooling parts.
AUTO MODE
Detects user activity (such as walking or standing still) to automatically adjust heating levels. The heating function will stop automatically following regarding 1 hour.
MY MODE
Users can set each temperature level and operating time to set a series of actions, such as “WARM→Intermittent→COOL→Intermittent→WARM→…”. Users can also select the recommended default mode.
Adjustable neck strap for different outfits
REON POCKET 3 can be used with the original special neckband NECKBAND2, this neckband makes it easier for users to wear the portable air conditioner to the neck, and the neckband allows users to more securely fix the neck where the air conditioner is most needed. In addition, the neckband part has an exhaust frame, which can be adjusted in angle, suitable for different clothes, more fitting when wearing, and even when wearing high-neck clothes, it can keep the air flowing without affecting the air-conditioning performance.

The REON POCKET 3 battery is also improved over the previous generation. At Level 4 (maximum cooling) in COOL mode, the battery life is up to 2 hours, and when used at Level 1, the maximum battery life is up to 4 hours and 30 minutes. In the heating heating mode Level 4 (maximum heating), it can operate continuously for 2 hours, and when it is used at Level 1, the operation time can reach 4 hours.
Users can charge the REON POCKET 3 with a USB charging device such as a laptop or a power bank, and in the case of USB power, the air-conditioning can be adjusted to a higher level of Level 4+.
Multiple internal components of the REON POCKET 3 are sealed, and the unit is dust- and splash-proof, preventing the entry of sweat or water droplets (but not completely).

SONY REON POCKET 3 will be available for pre-sale today (21st) and will be officially released on May 3rd, 2022. The set price (REON POCKET 3 main unit + NECKBAND2 special neckband) is HK$1,499. The retail price of the REON POCKET 3 console is HK$1,399, and the special neckband for NECKBAND2 is HK$199.
