The Zurich Supreme Court has delivered its verdict. A stepfather has been found guilty of having sex almost daily for eight months with his stepdaughter, who was 14 at the time. His wife, co-defendant, knew it and tolerated it. Although the girl asked her for help, she told her she had to accept it. The child was regularly beaten by the parents, mainly by the mother, according to the court. In total, the little girl reportedly received several hundred blows to the face, as well as blows with a vacuum cleaner hose. This abuse led to a serious psychological disorder for the victim, reports “NZZ”.
Compared to the first instance, the Court of Appeal now found the couple guilty of serious bodily injury. These are psychological injuries. Through their actions, the couple caused serious post-traumatic stress disorder to the little girl. The court of first instance had further argued that the psychological disorders might also have been influenced in doubt for the accused by previous experiences of violence with the biological father.
The prison sentence was increased from 36 to 50 months for the stepfather, and from 22 to 47 months for the biological mother. The Turk is also expelled from the country for eight years. The man, who is married to the Swiss woman and who also has a child with her, is not integrated in Switzerland professionally, linguistically or socially. Both parents were subject to a mandatory lifetime ban on contact with minors. The victim’s compensation was increased from 12,000 to 25,000 francs. The cause may still be disputed.
