Zurich: Search in Switzerland as part of a German investigation
Thursday evening, a search took place in Stadel, near Winterthur, involving intervention forces from the cantonal police and FedPol. A German case would have triggered this police action.
The Zurich cantonal police, in collaboration with the Federal Office of Police FedPol, carried out a large-scale search of a dwelling in Stadel, near Winterthur, on Thursday evening. This large deployment is necessary because it cannot be ruled out that chemicals are in the house, reports “Zueri Today”. The forensic institute also participates in the intervention. Friday morning, the searches continued. A screen was installed in front of the house concerned and an object was transported out of the building.
The intervention is carried out on behalf of the federal public prosecutor’s office in collaboration with the public prosecutor’s office in Karlsruhe, Germany, which confirms the intervention. The reason for the search would be an investigation procedure in Germany. “A German national was arrested in Germany, as part of the search in Stadel”, specifies the parquet floor of Karlsruhe. No other information concerning the search and the arrested person is given for the moment.
