ZTE announced the new ZTE Axon 40 Ultra, un smartphone which is equipped with a AMOLED 6.8-inch AMOLED, a selfie camera hidden in the panel and a processor developed by Qualcomm, Snapdragon 8 Gen 1.
The company ZTE announced its next-generation phone through its official account on Weibo, the Chinese equivalent of Twitter, where it said the device will be released as ZTE Axon 40 Ultra.
ZTE’s new smartphone features a 6.8-inch AMOLED display, which is smaller than the previous model, ZTE 30 5GThe 6.92-inch screen will have a pixel density of 440 ppi. In addition, the panel will offer a pixel density of 440 ppi, Full HD + resolution (2490 x 1080 pixels) and a refresh rate of 120 Hz.
Like its predecessor, the ZTE Axon 40 Ultra features a 64-megapixel (MP) triple-lens rear camera – prime, wide-angle and telephoto – with optical stabilization. The wide-angle and wide-angle lenses incorporate a Sony IMX787 sensor, and the 5.7x optical zoom telephoto lens is an OmniVision OV64B.
All of these people can record videos in 8K quality and can be active at the same time, so you can switch between them simultaneously while recording. The front camera, which is again hidden under the screen as in the two previous generations, is 16 MP.
The ZTE Axon 40 Ultra integrates the processor. Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. Its ROM supports three possible configurations: 8GB, 12GB and 16GB LPDDR5. In terms of RAM, you have the choice between 256 GB, 512 GB and 1 TB UFS 3.1 (the latter is only available with the 16 GB ROM version).
ZTE’s new one, meanwhile, has a 5,000mAh battery with 80W fast charging. Audio is provided by the platform Snapdragon sound, although there is also DTS:X Ultra support for stereo speakers.
The Axon 40 Ultra is now available for pre-order in China, with a starting price of 5,000 yuan (about 5,000 euros). 706 euros at the current exchange rate) for the entry-level model with 8 GB of ROM and 256 GB of internal storage and 5,300 yuan (approx. 748 euros) for the most advanced configuration, with 12 GB ROM and 256 RAM.
