Zsófia Koncz has now become State Secretary responsible for families

At the suggestion of Minister Balázs Hankó, President Tamás Sulyok appointed member of parliament Zsófia Koncz as state secretary for families, the Ministry of Culture and Innovation told MTI.

In recent years, Zsófia Koncz worked as a deputy minister, first in the Ministry of Technology and Industry, then in the Ministry of Energy. His task will now be to prepare for the further simplification and expansion of family allowances, the Ministry of Culture announced.

Ágnes Hornung, who was previously responsible for the area, will continue her work as the government commissioner responsible for the review and simplification of the regulation of financial processes related to the financing of home building, as well as the coordination of the renewal of the residential government securities strategy, it was published in the Magyar Közlöny on Wednesday.

Zsófia Koncz became the vice president of Fidelitas in 2013, and from 2017 she worked at the Hungarian Embassy in Washington as a foreign policy associate. His father was Ferenc Koncz, a member of parliament of Fidesz and mayor of Szerencs. After the death of Ferenc Koncz, Fidesz-KDNP nominated his daughter, Zsófia Koncz, in the 2020 Tiszaújváros by-election, which she won. He retained his mandate in 2022. Zsófia Koncz became state secretary of the Ministry of Technology and Industry in 2022, and of the Ministry of Energy in 2023. Zsófia Koncz’s mother holds leading positions in the interests of Lőrinc Mészáros, such as Tigáz, the Hunguest hotel chain and Opus Global Nyrt.

György Ujsághy will be the administrative state secretary of the Ministry of Culture and Innovation, who for more than a decade has performed legal, coordination and management tasks as a leader in several ministries. He will be joined by Zsolt Halász as Deputy State Secretary for Legal Affairs and Coordination.
