Zoorasian Brass Takes the Spotlight with a Mother Goose Extravaganza! – A Concert Report!

Hello, everyone! Miyamoto here from the Zoorasian Brass Staff, and let me tell you – our recent concert was less of a performance and more of a full-blown musical theme park, minus the roller coasters but with a lot of giggles!

Set against the scenic backdrop of Midori Art Park in Yokohama City on Saturday, September 7th, we proudly unveiled the Zoorasian Brass Collection (Zoocolle). And when I say collection, I don’t just mean the outfits (although more on those slightly too hot fall/winter ensembles later)! We dived headfirst into the whimsical world of Mother Goose.

The World of Mother Goose: A Brass-tacular Journey!

Our talented team brought a fresh twist to the classic British children’s songs, turning them into brass masterpieces that would make even Mother Goose herself feel hip. The concert featured an array of arrangements, and special appearances from our composers who—believe it or not—are as quirky as the songs they write. Yes, even they might need a little therapy after creating some of these tunes!

Your favorites got a Zoorasian upgrade: Click here for a taste! Every song was a delightful mix of nostalgia and jazz vibes. Can we talk about how Mouton-kun’s bass had us all feeling like we’d just stepped into a cool jazz club? Now that’s what I call ‘ba-donk-a-donk’ in the musical sense, folks!

Featured Performances

Here’s a quick rundown of our exquisite selections:

  • [Mother Goose’s Aunt] – Arranged by: Hisako Ogasawara: A slow-blues number that had the bass strutting like it was late for a very important date!
  • [10 Indians] – Arranged by: Sho Oiei: Not your garden-variety performance, this was an uptempo fiesta that tempted even the stiffest of chairs to join in the dance!
  • [Ali-san’s Cooking] – Arranged by: Naoto Yamaguchi: Now this was brass with pizzazz. Who knew cooking could sound this tasteful?
  • [Scarborough Fair] – Arrangement: Ena Yamagishi: A solo performance by Lion, who is clearly practicing his trumpet skills by arranging music that echoes… his dreams?
  • [Mary’s Sheep] – Arrangement: Kunio Matsuzaki: Now, who doesn’t love a quartet that sock it to us with waltzing sheep?
  • [Humpty Dumpty] – Arrangement: Hiroki Takahashi: Included a dance! Yes, I repeat—a dance due to some last-minute ‘Oops, we forgot to rehearse!’ moments. But hey, kudos to Mizuho Onee-san for not going off-script!
  • [Glitter Star Fantasy] – Composer: Sho Oiei: Picture a cute star and an intergalactic battle; this tune blazed like a shooting star, though the complexity made it feel more like a cosmic conniption!

Fashion Fumble or Fabulously Forward?

And here’s a side note: during our big fashion reveal for the xZBt’s new fall/winter line, you could hear a collective *sweat* as our performers donned their new coats and hoodies in the boiling summer sun. “It’s hot!” was the consensus as they dashed backstage, almost melting into puddles of style! But who can blame them? You can’t throw together a runway show without breaking a little (or a lot of) sweat. Check out these must-have items!

Wrapping It Up

What a ride! The Zoorasian Brass concert was not just an event; it was an experience filled with laughs, great tunes, and a sprinkle of musical magic. From vivid performances to beautiful arrangements, we brought a taste of Mother Goose that was downright delicious!

That’s all from our lovely Zoorasian adventure. Stay tuned for more updates, and thank you for reading to the end! Now stop reading and go have a cheeky little dance yourself!

hello everyone.
This is Miyamoto from Zoorasian Brass Staff!

This time, it was held on Saturday, September 7th at Midori Art Park (Yokohama City).

We would like to introduce you to the Zoorasian Brass Collection (Zoocolle).

The theme of the concert is the world of Mother Goose.
We have delivered a new arrangement of Mother Goose’s World Song, a traditional British children’s song, in the style of Zoorasian Brass.

Composers also visited and talked about their ideas for arrangement and the image of their songs.

There was also a lot of content, including the unveiling of xZBt’s new autumn/winter products and the award ceremony for the Saxo Fox Solo Competition.
Thank you to everyone who came to visit us.

Well, from here we will pick up new songs and deliver them to you.

[Mother Goose’s Aunt]Arranged by: Hisako Ogasawara
The performance was performed by Saxo Fox.

It was a mature and cool arrangement, like jazz (slow blues). Mouton-kun’s bass was so cool!

[10 Indians]Arranged by: Sho Oiei
The performance was performed by Saxo Fox.

It was a lively and fun performance that made you want to dance at an uptempo pace.

[Ali-san’s cooking]Arranged by: Naoto Yamaguchi
This is the brass ensemble! It was a cool arrangement that made me want to say.

It was a wonderful performance with great enthusiasm from the animals.

[Scarborough Fair]Arrangement: Ena Yamagishi
It was delivered as a solo performance by Lion.

Mr. Yamagishi, who arranged the song, has recently started practicing the trumpet.

When arranging the song, he envisioned how he wanted to be able to play it like this someday.

[Mary’s Sheep]Arrangement: Kunio Matsuzaki
We have delivered Mary’s Lamb, which everyone knows, as a quartet performed by Saxo Fox.
It was a fun arrangement where the middle part of the song changed in various ways, such as becoming a waltz in the middle.

[Humpty Dumpty]Arrangement: Hiroki Takahashi
It was delivered along with a dance choreographed by Mizuho Onee-san.

In fact, Tori and her friends had completely forgotten that this song included a dance, and asked Mizuho-neesan to do the choreography about 10 days before the actual performance. . .

I managed to make it in time for the actual performance. Mr. Takahashi, who arranged the song, also danced in high spirits.

[Glitter Star Fantasy]Composer: Sho Oiei
A magnificent and dramatic sparkling star was delivered to you by the brass ensemble performed by Zoorasian Brass.
Mr. Oiei talked about this song on the Zoorasian Brass special program on August 26th, and it is an epic story about a cute twinkling star that everyone knows, but which develops into a planetary ship war halfway through. It seems that he composed this song with the story in mind. Since the story is so epic, it seems like it was difficult to perform lol

At the xZBt new product launch event, we unveiled our new fall/winter mod coats, boa fleece, hoodies, huge totes, and stuffed toy pouches. The animals performed in the second part wearing new coats and hoodies, but it was still summer on the day of the concert. . . As soon as we returned backstage, there was a lot of fuss, saying, “It’s hot!”
