As an affirmation of his identity, and his musical signature, the musician takes us on a journey through the ills of society, his perception of history and his activist struggles with 8 tracks shared between the codes of funk , jazz, blues or even soul.
Funky guitars, jazzy winds or even retro synths, the album imposes itself as a luminous flash on Brian Jackson, long remained in the shadow of his tumultuous collaborator, the poet and musician Gil Scott-Heron. Composed of 8 tracks, the opus is adorned with a good dose of groove which is adorned with Caribbean and African influences, especially in the title Mami Wata.
