Zoom launches app for Apple TV 4K and depends on iPhone or iPad

With increased relevance thanks to the need for social distancing imposed by the Coronavirus (Covid-19) pandemic, the Zoom application has been focused on bringing news and implementations to users who continue to rely on the platform.

We, for example, have already seen here that the developer recently announced a collaborative text editor with a focus on AI, resources for preserving user data and now, the official arrival of an application for Apple TV, thus expanding the possible ways participation in meetings.

According to information provided by Sigmund Judge on his Twitter account and replicated by Apple Insider, the new “Zoom – for Home TV” application appeared on the App Store recently and arrives a few months following Apple presented the possibility of using the Apple TV 4K for FaceTime calls, thus opening the door to Zoom.

As the Apple TV 4K does not have an integrated camera, using the application also requires the use of an iPhone or iPad paired with the device, taking advantage of the continuity function between the brand’s devices.

But what, does it work for all Apple TV models? No! According to information published in the official store, the application requires at least a second generation Apple TV 4K or later to work, in addition to obviously the device to work as a camera.

It is worth noting that, thanks to the new application, Apple TV users will be able to start or participate in meetings in full (audio and video), view chats, invite participants and more, in addition to having integration with the calendar and more.
