“Zoom” addresses a vulnerability that allows “hackers” to control the operating system

The virtual video meeting application “Zoom” has introduced a fix for a serious security flaw that could allow “hackers” to take control of the user’s operating system.
The security flaw was known as CVE-2022-28756 and is found in the Mac OS computers of the American company “Apple”, and it targets the “Zoom” installer, and requires special user permissions to run, according to “Sputnik”.
By taking advantage of this tool, the hackers were essentially able to “trick” the application into installing malware on the device, by placing an encrypted “Zoom” signature on the package, from which point the attackers could gain additional access to the user’s system, allowing They can modify, delete or add files to the computer.
The fix for the security flaw is available in the “5.11.5” update of the application on the “Mac”, which is available for download at the present time, by first opening the application on the “Mac” and clicking on zoom.us from the menu bar at the top of the screen, and the application will display A window containing the latest version of it.
A cybersecurity researcher has discovered a way an attacker can take advantage of the macOS version of Zoom to gain access to the entire operating system.
He revealed details of the vulnerability in a presentation given by Mac security specialist Patrick Wardle at a hacking conference in Las Vegas on Friday.
Some bugs have already been fixed, but the researcher also presented one uncorrected security vulnerability that still affects the systems so far, according to what The Verge reported.
