The daughter of musician and actress Zooey Deschanel, Elsie Otter, wrote to a company in Indonesia. In fact, Elsie herself is currently in 1st grade.
Elsie Otter, wrote a letter on a book with green paper, which she photographed and sent via Instagram Direct Message (DM). The account that sent the DM belongs to his mother @zooeydeschanel.
Elsie’s letter was addressed to an Instagram account belonging to an Indonesian recycling company called Evoware.
“Hey! My daughter wrote a thank you note to your founder for making edible plastic. She’s in first grade. All the best. Zooey,” wrote the account @zooeydeschanel accompanied by a photo of the letter from her son, as quoted by detikHOT from the uploaded Instagram Story @evowareworld, Wednesday (31/5/2023).
In her letter, Elsie wrote that she and her friend Stellan had learned that pollution from plastic waste had really polluted the oceans. Even the piles of trash that have resembled islands that are very large in size.
In typical children’s handwriting, Elsie and Stellan thanked Evoware for inventing an innovative product to replace plastic from natural ingredients that are safe to eat. Both of them hoped that what Evoware was doing might be even more popular so that they would invite more people to join.
“Can you make it different flavors live chocolate and strawberry?” close the letter while submitting a special request.
Evoware itself is a company with the slogan ‘A World without Plastic Pollution’. They provide disposable plastic replacement products that are made using natural materials that are safe to eat, such as: cups, packaging and straws. In addition, the entire Evoware product line can be composted independently at home at the end of its useful life.
Products such as Edible Straw Rice, Edible Cup Ello Jelo, are products that can be used and eaten followingwards. Apart from that, there are also other daily products such as shopping bags, places to eat, straws as well as cutlery.
Of course, the letter from Zooey Deschanel’s son immediately received a response from the owner of Evoware, David Christian. From uploading Instagram Story, David replied by writing that he was so flattered that what children did at an early age like Elsie and Stellan might respond to.
David also explained regarding their difficult journey to make plastic no longer pollute the environment and pollute the oceans.
“I’m glad you guys also like the idea that plastic is edible and we can make it disappear,” David wrote in English.
Regarding the idea requested by the two children, it seems that it will be realized. “And, of course we like the idea of making it have a variety of flavors. Chocolate and strawberries sound very delicious. We are sending you two of our products to try, okay,” continued David once more at the same time ending his letter.
