Zoltán Gera left the Vasas bench

It seems that with the domestic defeat against Tatabánya, something broke between the team and the head coach.

Zoltán Gera terminated the contract with the Vasas football team by mutual agreement, so in the future he will no longer manage the Angyalföldi, who are in fourth place after four rounds in the second division championship. In addition to Gera, his second coach, Csaba Csizmadia, is also leaving the club.

The former national team footballer took over the management of the red and blue team from the outgoing Szilárd Desits at the end of February, and they finished last season in third place, two points behind promoted Győr.

Newcomer Tatabánya won as a guest of Vasas

NB II ended with a surprise. Round 4.

In addition to 10 wins in 18 games during Gera’s management years, the team has four draws and four defeats. In the current season, in addition to two wins, they achieved one draw, while in the last round they lost at home to Tatabánya, so they are now three points behind second-placed Gyirmót, who are promoted.

“HEk were more combative, we started to complain when the referee did not blow the supposed foul, and this shows that there was a problem in the match. Obviously I’m responsible for this, because it’s mine, and if we can’t change this, then I’m obviously not the right person to do this thing” – he said after the defeat against Tatabánya.

Zoltán Gera: If we cannot change, then I am not the right person

According to the head coach of Vasas, the team lacked humility, which is why they did not even deserve a victory against Tatabánya.

“Today, by mutual agreement, we terminated the contract with head coach Zoltán Gera and assistant coach Csaba Csizmadia. We thank them for what they did for Vasas, and we wish them much success in their future coaching careers. Until the final replacement of the departing professionals takes place, András László, the coach of our NB III team, will take over the management of our NB II team as temporary head coach. said Vasas website Sports director Miklós Nagy. The final replacement will be decided later.
