2019 repeated; Raza and Williams as Tears, Chevrons as Heart Wounds
Zimbabwe failed to qualify for the ICC World Cup once more. After an undefeated run at the start of qualifying, Chevrons were unable to recover in the final lap.
Queen’s Sports Club Cricket Ground witnessed a repeat of the 2019 ICC World Cup Qualifier. The only difference is that they lost to the UAE by three runs and were eliminated today once morest the Netherlands.
It was also the last chance for many superstars to play in the World Cup. Modern day Zimbabwean cricket pillars like Sikander Raza and Sean Williams are unlikely to be around for the next World Cup.
What upsets the fans is that Zimbabwe had to be eliminated at the last minute following total dominance in the warm-up match of the qualifier and the group stage.
Zimbabwe’s defeat was by 31 runs in the previous match. Chevrons skipper Craig Irvine won the toss and sent the opponents into bat.
Matthew Cross, Brandon McMullen and George Munsey’s innings in the top order and Michael Lesak’s brilliant firework in the middle order helped Scotland.
In the end, Scotland scored 234 runs for the loss of eight wickets in the stipulated over.

Batting in reply, Zimbabwe got things wrong from the very first ball. Captain Craig Irwin was soon in the tent with two runs from six balls when wicketkeeper Joylord Gumby was lost on the first ball of the innings.
In the last match, the savior of the team, Sean Williams, was unable to do anything, and Zimbabwe smelled danger. But Sikander Raza and Ryan Bale batted brilliantly to bring life to the scoreboard.

In the 18th over, he lost Raza, who scored 34 runs off 40 balls, but Bale raised the score by partnering with Wesley Madheware, who came following him. But with the team score standing at 164, Madhevar, who scored 40 runs, was dismissed and Zimbabwe lost.
