Zhu Lilun denies the fact that the Kuomintang re-evaluates Lee Teng-hui without the fact

The Kuomintang recently reported that it intends to re-evaluate the merits and demerits of the late President Lee Teng-hui, triggering a debate over the party’s line; Party Chairman Zhu Lilun publicly stated today that there is no need to re-evaluate, there is no such fact, and emphasized that from the late President Chiang Kai-shek to the former President Ma Ying-jeou, every period All are very important. Whether it is defense, construction, democracy, or peace in Taiwan, these are the basic concepts of the Kuomintang.

Lee Teng-hui served as the chairman of the Kuomintang for 12 years, but following stepping down as president, he gradually drifted away from the Kuomintang. In 2001, he promoted the establishment of the Taiwan Solidarity Alliance and stood for the party, and was expelled from the party by the Kuomintang.

The media reported that Zhu Lilun planned to post a Facebook post to re-evaluate Lee Teng-hui on the 2nd anniversary of Lee Teng-hui’s death, triggering a backlash from Deep Blue.

In the morning, Zhu Lilun was interviewed before attending the super-recommended dharma meeting for the deceased of the new crown epidemic held in Xiansi Palace, Sanchong District, New Taipei City. In response to media reports that on the 2nd anniversary of Lee Teng-hui’s death, he planned to publish a Facebook post to re-examine the party history and evaluate Lee Teng-hui. The merits and demerits indicate that “there is no need to re-evaluate, there is no such fact”.

Zhu Lilun said that in the past, whether it was Chiang Kai-shek’s defense of Taiwan, Chiang Ching-kuo’s construction of Taiwan, and the transition to democracy, to the democratic Taiwan promoted by Lee Teng-hui’s era, or the peaceful Taiwan that Ma Ying-jeou aimed at regional peace, every period was important. Whether it is defending Taiwan, building Taiwan, democratic Taiwan, or peaceful Taiwan, these are the central goals and basic concepts of the Kuomintang, indicating that the Kuomintang loves Taiwan the most.

The on-site media asked whether there was no discussion regarding re-evaluating Lee Teng-hui at all. Zhu Lilun only said that this should be asked of the reporter, not him.

Regarding Zhu Lilun’s interpretation that he intends to lead the Kuomintang to move closer to the middle line, Ma Ying-jeou said in an interview on the same occasion in the morning that the Kuomintang is now facing many challenges and should do more business. Zhu Lilun responded that the Kuomintang is facing many challenges at this stage, and what Ma Ying-jeou said is right, the Kuomintang is to overcome the challenges one by one.
