Renowned Chinese singer Zhang Mi has recently revealed her devastating diagnosis of tongue cancer, necessitating surgery that will result in the removal of half of her tongue, effectively marking the end of her illustrious singing career.
Zhang, who has bravely battled late-stage tonsil and oral cancer since 2019, took to social media to share the news of this new diagnosis, which represents her third encounter with cancer in just five years, as reported by Znews and China Times.
“After multiple examinations, I was diagnosed with tongue cancer. I was devastated,” Zhang shared, conveying the emotional turmoil this news has brought. “It’s incredibly difficult to accept that I will lose half of my tongue to surgery. Despite the daunting prognosis, Zhang urged her fans not to worry, vowing to confront the disease with resilience and determination, thus inspiring countless individuals facing adversity.
