“About 300 people are sitting and lying on the concrete floor; they are not allowed to get up. They forbade us to leave, they said that everyone’s documents would be checked,” said an eyewitness.
No one answered the phone at the club.
The Zero People group is a duet of members of the Animal Jazz group, vocalist Alexander Krasovitsky and keyboardist Alexander Zarankin.
The side project was founded by them in 2011 to try themselves in a different, freer musical style and format, for a more demanding audience. The duet was successful in a professional environment – they received the independent music award “Golden Gargoyle” and were nominated for the “Chart Dozen”.
Over the years of its existence, the ensemble has released nine albums, filmed music videos (including for the whole country a cover was played to the song DDT, filmed in the burnt Vladimir Drama Theater), participated in theatrical productions.
Vocalist Alexander Krasovitsky did not hide the fact that he did not support the conduct of hostilities, and even before they began, the musicians did not schedule performances in Crimea.
Information regarding the beginning of the cancellation of performances by the groups “Animal Jazz” and Zero People in Russia began to arrive in June 2023 – following the Investigative Committee, the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Culture received appeals from activists of the “Call of the People” movement with a request to check the musicians to see if they are foreign agents. In particular, performances in the Far East were cancelled.
On October 31, the Zero People group released a new album, “Songs of Time.”
