Zero Hunger: Conae explains that in 68 priority districts the rations include students from the Initial and Basic School Level

Asuncion, IP Agency.- The National School Food Council (Conae), headed by the Ministry of Social Development (MDS), explains that the breakfast, snack and lunch rations served in this first stage of the implementation of the Zero Hunger in Schools Program are intended exclusively for students in the Initial and Basic School Level, which includes from Kindergarten to Ninth Grade.

In a statement, the agency said that this is in effect in educational institutions in 68 of the 90 districts where the program was implemented in August.

It also mentions that, in the other 22 districts, which are prioritized by the Social Protection System and the poverty rates of the National Institute of Statistics (INE), the breakfast, snack and lunch rations are intended for students in the Initial, Basic, and Secondary Education Levels, which include from Kindergarten to the third year of Secondary Education.

Remember that in priority districts whose educational institutions are included in the Zero Hunger Program, lunch will be included up to the third year of high school.

In Central are Luque, Clean, Capiatá, Ñemby, San Antonio, Stone; in San Pedro are Yrybucua, Capiibary and Santa Rosa del Aguaray; in Caaguazú are RI 3 Corrals, Yhu and Tembiaporã; in Caazapá are General Higinio Morínigo and San Juan Nepomuceno; in Itapúa are Alto Vera and San Pedro del Paraná; in Upper Parana are Itakyry and Juan EO ́Leary; and in Ñeembucú are Pilar, Villa Oliva, Villa Franca and Alberdi, Conae detailed.

He also said that the expansion of total coverage will gradually include more districts in a subsequent stage, in accordance with prior analyses and authorization from Conae.

It should be noted that in this first stage of the implementation of the Zero Hunger program, it reaches some 450,000 students enrolled in 2,627 educational institutions, with an approximate investment of USD 528 million, according to data from the Ministry of Social Development.
