Zero Hunger Business Roundtable Launches in Itapúa, Expanding to Four More Regions

Asuncion, IP Agency.- This Thursday, the business roundtable to link small agricultural producers and micro-entrepreneurs with the companies awarded the project “Zero Hunger in Schools” is taking place in the department of Itapúa. Four other departments already have a set date for this activity that seeks to generate links that boost local economies.

So far, 10 business forums have been held, in the departments of Central, Paraguarí, Caazapá, Guairá, Boquerón, Ñeembucú, Canindeyú, Caaguazú, Cordillera and Misiones.

The 11th edition will be held this Thursday in the department of Itapúa. It will be held on September 27 in Amambay, on October 3 in Alto Paraná, on October 10 in San Pedro and on October 17 in Concepción, according to the calendar announced by the Government.

The objective of these business meetings is to facilitate the connection between MSMEs and family agriculture producers with companies awarded contracts for the Zero Hunger Program, promoting compliance with the 5% purchase from micro, small and medium-sized companies; and 10% from family agriculture of the awarded contracts.

The last business roundtable was held in Misiones, where 59 organizations participated and according to data from the organizers, the business potential was Gs. 4,927 million.
