Zero Hunger: Business roundtable in Canindeyú closes with Gs. 4.5 billion in commercial potential

Asuncion, IP Agency.- The new edition of the business roundtable held in Canindeyú brought together 50 organizations, including MSMEs and family farmers, generating around 4.5 billion guaraníes in business intentions. The presence of fruit and vegetable products, as well as grains, was highlighted.

This was the seventh edition of the business roundtables, which seek to link agricultural producers and MSMEs with the companies awarded the contract to provide school meals within the framework of the Zero Hunger program.

This edition was attended by 50 organizations, of which 78% were family farmers, while 22% were micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs).

The presence of fruit and vegetable products was highlighted, with a 62% share, followed by grains, flour, meat, dairy products, honey and baked goods.

The Vice Ministry of MSMEs indicated that the company awarded the contract in this town was the company “Blanca Nieve”, which interviewed all the participants of the event, including them in a database as potential suppliers.

These agreements and business intentions will be controlled through the presentation of monthly purchase reports by the awarded companies and the uploading of invoices generated by the MSMEs and Family Agriculture from whom they have acquired goods/services.

In addition, these reports will be submitted in the Contract Monitoring module hosted on the National Directorate of Public Procurement’s website in order to verify correct compliance with the mandatory purchasing percentages and ensure transparency in the execution of the Zero Hunger program.

Companies awarded Zero Hunger must demonstrate that at least 5% of their inputs come from MSMEs and 10% from family farming.

During this new round of business, technical assistance was provided for formalization, financial inclusion and registrations related to the food, seeds and meat sectors.
