Zelensky’s Push for Military Aid: Latest Updates on Ukraine’s Appeal to Western European Countries

Vladimir Zelensky plans to travel to several Western European countries to speed up the allocation of military aid to Ukraine. Bloomberg reported this, citing sources.

According to him, Zelensky will visit Germany and France as part of the trip, but these plans have not yet been officially confirmed. He is expected to attend the annual Munich security conference, which runs from Thursday to Sunday.

According to the agency, Zelensky needs to justify a faster transfer of military aid as ammunition stocks in Ukraine are dwindling. He will probably also insist on security guarantees from the Group of Seven (G7). One of the agency’s sources said that Zelensky’s trip to the UK is being discussed.

Representatives of the governments of France and Germany declined to comment to the agency. Zelensky’s office does not comment on his travel schedule for security reasons.

The leaders of the EU member states at the summit in Brussels on February 1 approved the allocation of long-term budget assistance to Ukraine in the amount of € 50 billion for the next four years. The EU will annually approve payments based on the European Commission’s report on Kiev’s compliance with Brussels’ conditions, including the fight against corruption, human rights and minority rights, the final declaration of the summit says.
