Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said the next few months in the ongoing Russia-Ukraine war will be decisive. On Sunday (22/9), Zelensky arrived in the United States (US), where he will attend the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.

“We don’t have much time. The next few months will be decisive,” Zelensky said in a speech at an awards ceremony in New York hosted by the American Academy of Achievement, where he received the Golden Plate Award, Anadolu reported on Tuesday (9/24).

According to him, in this war, we are really fighting to seize that freedom. He asked for faster action. “We don’t need to lose the next few months in the war, so that we don’t lose the next few decades,” he added.

He said Ukraine has a plan for victory, adding that he would convey it to the current US administration, presidential candidates Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, and other Kyiv allies.

“And I believe this must be our collective achievement – a victory for freedom, without compromise that sacrifices freedom. Today, we all hold the power to shape the world in which our children and their children will live,” he added.

Earlier this month, Ukraine’s president said in an interview with CNN that his country’s “victory plan” contained four basic points and one other point he said Kyiv would need after the war.

“It’s about security. It’s about Ukraine’s geopolitical position. It’s about the very strong military support that is available to us, and that we should be free in how we use one or the other. It’s about economic support, and the decision, I think, will be interesting,” he said. (I-2)
