Zelensky wrote on Telegram on Saturday that he wanted to present the plan at the next meeting of the so-called Ramstein contact group. It contains clear and concrete steps for a just end to the war. He had previously spoken about such a plan, but did not publish details.
A Ukraine summit will take place in a week at the US air force base Ramstein in Germany, to which US President Joe Biden is inviting people. At the meeting of the US-led contact group to support Ukraine attacked by Russia, Biden wants to coordinate the efforts of the more than 50 countries that supported Kiev in its defensive fight, the White House said.
During a visit to the United States last month, Zelensky presented his plan to President Biden as well as the two presidential candidates, Kamala Harris and Donald Trump. It contains some productive proposals, said a spokesman for the US State Department. However, the Wall Street Journal reported, citing US officials, that these were simply the well-known Ukrainian demands for more weapons and permission to use longer-range missiles. It does not contain a comprehensive strategy.
