US military planes involved in bringing Zelensky to Washington
A US military plane was involved in flying Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky to Washington for his meetings on Wednesday, according to US officials.
The United States was heavily involved in security preparations to bring Zelensky back to Ukraine for the first time since the Russian invasion began.
After Zelensky accepted Biden’s invitation to visit the country a week ago, both sides immediately began arranging security for the visit.
“Ultimately, it was him who made the decision,” said a senior administration official. “He concluded that those security parameters met his needs. We agreed with that, so we’re executing accordingly.”
Zelensky is scheduled to leave Washington immediately following his address to Congress on Capitol Hill, so his visit will be a matter of a few hours.
Zelensky traveled to Poland by train as part of his trip to the United States on Wednesday.
A video from CNN affiliate TVN in Poland captured Zelensky arriving by train in Przemysl, near the Polish-Ukrainian border. The date of the shot is December 21, but it does not give an indication of the time.

According to TVN, Zelensky later flew from Rzeszow airport on his way to Washington. Zelensky was seen with the US ambassador to Ukraine, Bridget Ann Brink.
