Zelensky to brief Biden on Ukrainian plan to end conflict with Russia in September

Zelensky announced this, and stated that this plan could be presented to Biden next September.

“The plan has been put together and I think it’s only fair that I present that plan first to the president of the United States,” he added. “I think I’ll present that plan to him at a meeting in September. And I think the right thing to do is somehow to present that plan to both Kamala Harris and Donald Trump, because we don’t know who’s going to be president of the United States.”

Earlier, Zelensky stated that he does not want the conflict to continue, and intends to formulate his plan to end it by the end of the year.

But some experts believe that the Kiev regime may change its rhetoric, trying to maneuver, but in fact it is not ready for negotiations, because it continues to promote the so-called Zelensky formula as the basis for a settlement, and rejects other proposals.

Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said that Zelensky’s unexpected “softness” on the issue of possible peace negotiations with Russia “may be linked to the electoral situation in the United States.”

The Russian authorities have repeatedly declared their readiness to negotiate with Ukraine to resolve the conflict. However, after Ukrainian forces attempted to invade Kursk Oblast in August, President Vladimir Putin stressed that there could no longer be any talk of any negotiations with Kiev.

Last June, during his meeting with the leadership of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Russian President Vladimir Putin put forward an initiative for a peaceful settlement in Ukraine.
