“Russia is testing in Ukraine everything that can be used against other European countries,” he said. “It started with gas wars and ended with a full-scale invasion, with the terror of missiles and the burning of Ukrainian cities.”
Ukraine must also defeat Russia to keep other countries safe, Zelensky added. “The sooner this happens, the less damage and suffering there will be for all European families, all European countries.”
The Ukrainian leader also once again expressed his gratitude for the US-provided HIMARS multiple rocket launchers, some five months into the war.
At the same time, he insisted on receiving air defense systems. There are already agreements with international partners, but in view of the Russian attacks, “a completely different speed and level of protection” are needed, President Zelensky insisted.
