Zelensky invited to G20 summit to establish contact with Russia

Indonesia has invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to the G20 summit as a member, and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has been invited to make contact with the Russian Federation. This was stated by Indonesian Ambassador to Russia Jose Tavares.

“Indonesia invited, of course, Russia, the President [России Владимира] Putin as a member of the G20, but also [президента Украины Владимира] Zelensky to try to establish some kind of contact,” the ambassador told RIA Novosti. According to him, no such proposals have been received from Kyiv. “Ukraine did not come to us with such a proposal, but Indonesia would be very happy to facilitate such a meeting on the sidelines of the G20,” Tavares said. He stressed that the republic is ready to facilitate the meeting of the two leaders to establish contact between the countries.

Earlier, the head of Indonesia said that Russian President Vladimir Putin will come to the G20 summit. According to him, the Russian leader personally informed him regarding the upcoming meeting.

Earlier, the US called for the isolation of Russia following the start of a special operation in Ukraine. In particular, US Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said that representatives of the Russian Federation not a place at the G20 summit. Bloomberg wrote that the Russian Federation has become a reason for schism “Big Twenty”.
