Zelensky: “Don’t be a Russian mercenary… It will be the worst decision of your life.”

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky warned mercenaries joining the Russian army on the 17th that “this will be the worst decision of their lives”.

In a video posted on Facebook that night, he said, “Long life is better than little money,” CNN reported.

President Zelensky said he had information that the Russian military was recruiting mercenaries from other countries, but said it would not help them.

He also emphasized that despite the continuing bombardment of Russian troops, Ukrainian forces are still holding all key areas.

“We did not want this war,” Zelensky said to the Russian people. I only want peace,” he sent the message, saying, “I hope you love your children more than you fear the (Vladimir Putin) regime.”

President Zelensky gave a video speech to German lawmakers on the 22nd day of the invasion of Russia. While appealing for international support, he also expressed his regret that Germany gave help too late for economic benefits such as the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline project.

Prior to that, he made video speeches to members of Parliament in the UK, Canada and the US. Members of these countries expressed their support with a standing ovation.
