The Ukrainian president, Volodímir Zelensky, participated this Sunday in Buenos Aires in the investiture ceremony of Javier Milei as president of Argentina.

“Today I participated in the inauguration of Javier Milei in Buenos Aires. “This is a new beginning for Argentina and I hope that President Milei and all the Argentine people surprise the world with their successes,” Zelensky said. The visit to Buenos Aires is Zelensky’s first trip to Latin America since the war began and is intended to improve relations with Latin America, one of his Government’s priorities for this coming year.

Within Congress, Zelensky expressed confidence that Javier Milei’s government will support his country “before the United Nations” following the invasion of Russia that occurred in February of last year.
The Ukrainian took advantage of his visit to Buenos Aires to hold bilateral meetings with the main leaders of the region who participated in the Argentine ceremony.
“I met with Daniel Noboa and congratulated him on his recent election as President of Ecuador. “I thanked Ecuador for its position of support for the resolutions condemning the Russian invasion of Ukraine and invited it to the next meeting of the Peace Formula in January 2024,” he wrote in his X el Ukrainian account.
