Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelensky asked the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) this Thursday (03.24.2022) for “unrestricted military aid” so that his country can confront the Russian army, which kyiv is now fighting “in unequal conditions.”
“To save the people and our cities, Ukraine needs unrestricted military aid. Just as Russia uses its entire arsenal once morest us without restriction,” Zelensky told the assembled heads of state and government of the Atlantic alliance in a video. at an extraordinary summit in Brussels, and posted on his Telegram account.
“The Ukrainian army has been resisting for a month in unequal conditions. I have been repeating the same thing for a month,” he said.
Likewise, the president reiterated his request for fighter planes and tanks, especially to “unblock” Mariupol, Berdyansk and Melitopol, cities in southern Ukraine besieged or occupied by the Russian army.
“They have thousands of fighter planes. But they haven’t given us any yet,” he lamented. “Ukraine asked for 1% of all its tanks. Give them to us or sell them to us, but we still don’t have a clear answer,” she said.
Zelensky also accused Russia of using phosphorous bombs in its attacks on Ukrainian territory. “This morning (…) there were two Russian phosphorous bombs. Adults and children have died once more,” he said, referring to the accusations of the government of the Lugansk region (east) following bombings in the town of Rubijné.
