The Zelda license is undoubtedly among the most popular in the industry. The adventures of the blond hero have been going on since 1986 already and worldwide, the trend is not ready to run out. With the release of the Switch opuses Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom, the enthusiasm of players for the franchise is at its peak. But while since the very first opus The Legend of Zelda, many things have changed in Hyrule, one thing remains. An enemy is present in all Zelda games, can you guess which one?

This enemy has been in Zelda games for 30 years

Fans of Nintendo’s license will no doubt have guessed which opponent we’re talking regarding in this article. These are the Stals. These fearsome enemies only appear (usually) at night and can be of several different species: stalbokoblins, stalmoblins, stalezalfos and stalhinox. Armed with bows or other threatening weapons, they will often appear in groups to attack our poor Link.

Every Zelda game, from the 1986 original to the latest installments, contains at least one enemy de type “Stal”. Majora’s Mask is the only episode in the saga where the Stal enemies do not appear as adversaries per se. However, Ikana’s loyal bodyguards of King Igos are Stalfos all three. In addition to this, seasoned players will notice the presence of Captain Keeta, leader of the Stalkin.

It’s important to note that no enemy is as recurring in the franchise. The Stals, present for more than 30 years, win the list of the toughest opponent!

The Stal at the rendezvous in Tears of the Kingdom?

Of course, this latest opus once once more pays homage to these creatures by including them in the game. While traveling through Hyrule, players will be able to cross paths with enemies with the prefix “Stal”, in various areas such as the Gerudo desert, the plain of Hyrule or the great forest of Hyrule. As you will have understood, Link will once once more have to face Ganondorf, but also the Stal!

Again, impossible to get rid of because the Blood Moon will allow vile creatures to reappear. As you will have understood, the Stal are tough and are not ready to let go of our dear Link. We can’t wait to find them in the (potential) next games from Nintendo!
