Blatant difference between ZDF and SRF

Where does this big wage difference between the two TV stations come from? Media expert Guido Keel from the ZHAW has the wage gap for nau.ch analyzed and says: “The German media space is much larger than the German-speaking Swiss. The regional broadcasters in Germany often have a larger catchment area than SRF.”

In addition, the SRF figureheads can earn extra money on top of their monthly salaries through external presentations and events.

Two years ago, “10vor10” anchor Arthur Honegger earned 12,473 francs for moderation for the Foreign Affairs Department (EDA), according to “nau.ch”. And SRF colleague Urs Gredig (52) received 7,000 francs for an appearance for the Federal Office of Energy (BFE).

According to “nau”, Swiss television is not worried that SRF figureheads would move abroad because of wages.
