Biography of a musician

Omar Ali Mahmoud Khairat was born in 1947 in the Sayeda Zeinab neighborhood in Cairo, to a family that loved the arts, and loved the piano, with which he discovered new areas of feeling, memories, and the strength of the Egyptian personality. He graduated from the Conservatory, and was among the first batch of the prestigious conservatory. He then moved on to study music composition at Trinity College in London until the features of his independent musical personality were completed as a professional composer who formulates his own musical visions with distinctive musical phrases characterized by depth, richness and flow.

And he appeared to the audience for the first time with the soundtrack through the movie “The Night of the Arrest of Fatima” in 1983, and his works continued, as he participated in composing many series introductions and soundtracks in his own way, as he was able to merge western orchestral music with eastern melodies. Among his most important works: “The Case of Ahmed’s Uncle,” “The Miser and I,” “The Conscience of Abla Hikmat,” “Guayish,” and “The Night of Fatima’s Arrest.” Khairat’s concerts are varied in various countries of the Arab world and the world, and in 2000 he presented the music of the operetta Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. His musical works were able to transfer Arabic music to a global horizon.
