Zamalek’s training.. Ferreira session with the guards and Ashour is absent

Zamalek continued its training today, Saturday, at Abdellatif Abourgila Stadium, as part of its preparations for the match once morest Flambo, the Burundian champion in the African Champions League.

According to the official website of Zamalek, Portuguese coach Josefaldo Ferreira held a lengthy session with the players before the start of the training, and the coach praised the efforts made by everyone during the recent period, and called on the players to focus and make every effort in preparation for the coming period, especially the Burundian Flambo match.

The coach stressed his confidence in all the elements to win and compete for all the tournaments in which the team participates.

At the end of the training, Ferreira and his assistant staff explained some of the technical, tactical and physical matters that will be implemented during the current period in preparation for facing the Burundian Flambo.

The team’s technical staff raised the physical load of the players during today’s training, and the team’s players participated in a strong qualifying session, which was divided into two phases. One touch in a small space.

Andre-Philippe Sousa, the load planner, led this segment alongside Daniel Gonzalez, the team’s performance analyst, who took all the notes as instructed by Ferreira.

Ferreira held a session with the team’s goalkeepers, Mohamed Awad, Mohamed Sobhi, Mohamed Nadim and Mr. Attia, in the presence of Ayman Taher, the goalkeepers coach, and Hosni Khattab, the translator, during today’s training.

Ferreira, during his conversation with the quartet, was keen to check on the progress of preparations for the coming period, and asked them to exert their utmost effort and train with full force, stressing his confidence in the capabilities of all guards.

In the same context, the goalkeepers’ quadrant undertook strong technical training under the supervision of Ayman Taher, the goalkeepers’ coach, during which they focused on issues related to playing football with the foot and precise passing, in addition to several different technical aspects.

Ashour suffers from exhaustion

The team’s technical staff also developed a special rehabilitation program for Imam Ashour, the midfielder, during the training that was held today.

Imam Ashour practiced running around the stadium for a period of minutes, followed by various qualifying exercises with and without the ball, under the leadership of Andre Philip Sousa, the load planner.

Imam Ashour did not participate in group training with his colleagues, whether in the qualifying, physical or tactical session, by a decision of Ferreira due to the player’s suffering from muscle fatigue.

The team’s technical staff is seeking to best equip the player to participate in group training during the coming period.

A special program for Abdullah Juma

In the same context, the technical staff set a special rehabilitation program for Abdullah Gomaa, the left back of Al-Abyad, to implement it inside the gymnasium on the sidelines of today’s training.

Abdullah Juma was satisfied with performing the exercises inside the gymnasium according to the program set for him by the technical staff, and he did not participate in the team’s group training, provided that he organizes the training during the coming period.

Zamalek is preparing for the upcoming Burundian Flambo match in the first leg of the 32nd round of the African Champions League, scheduled for Tanzania on October 9.
