Zamalek ended its CAF Champions League campaign with a 0-0 draw with Sagrada of Angola in the match that was held in the sixth round of the group stage today, Friday, at Cairo Stadium.
Zamalek raised its score to 4 points in third place in the table of the fourth group clubs, and on the other hand, Sagrada settled in fourth place with only two points.
Match events
Zamalek almost advanced quickly after 6 minutes, after Islam Jaber sent a cross from the right of the field that Mahmoud Alaa headed past the goal.
Sagrada responded with a shot in the next minute, but it arrived easily in the hands of Zamalek goalkeeper, Mohamed Awad.
Awad reappeared again, but in the 9th minute, by blocking a Sagrada player’s shot and turning it into a corner, it was carried away by Awad.
In the 17th minute, Sagrada’s player hit a ball that Zamalek defender Mahmoud Alaa headed to the top of his team’s goal for a corner that was carried away by the white defense.
Mohamed Awad starred in the 27th minute by blocking a shot from the Sagrada player from the Zamalek penalty area.
In the 35th minute, Zizou sent a ball to Islam Jaber, who shot the ball into the hands of the Sagrada goalkeeper.
Islam Jaber sent a cross from the left of the field, and his colleague Saif Al-Jaziri headed over Sagrada’s goal in the 37th minute.
And Islam Jaber scored in the 45th minute, a weak ball passed past Sagrada’s goal.
The second half started with the coach of Zamalek, Vieira, pushing the player Abdullah Gomaa instead of Seif Al-Jaziri.
Bencharki sent a long ball to his colleague Mohamed Abdel Shafi, who shot it from inside the penalty area in the 51st minute.
Play was stopped in the 57th minute after Zamalek goalkeeper Mohamed Awad was injured while he was removing a short pass from his colleague Mahmoud Alaa before it reached Sagrada.
Sagrada missed the opportunity to score a goal in the 78th minute of the match, after the Angolan striker scored the goal, but he shot it higher than the crossbar.
The match ended in a goalless draw between the two teams.
