The official spokesman for the Ministry of Sports said on Al-Nahar channel: “A ruling was issued by the State Council stipulating that Mortada Mansour will not be president in the coming period until the earliest date for a general assembly, and this is according to the regulations.”
He added, “For us, as the Ministry of Youth and Sports, we obtained a letter from Zamalek Club to implement the ruling.”
He continued, “As an administrative body, we are concerned with implementing the judicial ruling, but some talked about appointing a charge d’affaires, and this is another issue.”
Zamalek club explained the fact that the club’s board of directors had taken a decision to dismiss Mortada Mansour from the position of club president and to appoint a chargé d’affaires.
Sherif Hassan, Acting Executive Director of the club, revealed: “There is no basis in truth for what was published of false news in which non-existent decisions were attributed to the Zamalek Club Board of Directors, that it had taken a decision to dismiss Counselor Mortada Mansour and appoint a caretaker as the club’s president in his place.”
He added, “The truth is that it is false and fabricated news, and we challenge those who spread it to publish a copy of the dismissal decision or the appointment of a charge d’affaires, and in order to confirm their lie, the Board of Directors has not held any formal or friendly meeting since last Thursday, in which the members of the Board announced in front of millions in a press conference held in The Mohamed Hassan Helmy hall was held by Mortada Mansour as president of the club, and this is the conference in which he announced that he voluntarily apologized for attending the sessions, and confirmed it yesterday in his statement, which was published on his personal page and followed by millions.
And Ahmed Mortada Mansour, a member of the board of directors, previously stated in statements during the press conference last week: “I say to the Minister of Sports (from the other). We will not appoint an acting president of the club.”
“If you want to dissolve the council, dissolve it completely. We do not need positions,” he added.
At the same conference, Khaled Latif, the club’s treasurer, announced the board’s adherence to Mortada Mansour’s continued presidency of the club, despite the issuance of a court ruling to remove him from office.
