Zagitova defeated the Olympic champion in a show fight in fencing

Olympic champion in figure skating Alina Zagitova defeated two-time winner of the Games epee fencer Karina Aznavuryan in a show fight as part of the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Moscow sports at Luzhniki.
The fight ended with a score of 15:14 in favor of Zagitova. According to TASS, with a score of 14:14, the latter missed injections twice, but the opponent asked them not to be counted. On the third attempt, Zagitova made a winning shot.

“With a mentor like Karina, everything is on the shoulder. I boxed here last year. I want to say that fencing is much more difficult. Here you need to maintain maximum concentration. 21-year-old Zagitova is an Olympic champion in women’s singles (2018), European champion (2018) and world champion (2019). Aznavourian, 48, is the 2000 and 2004 Olympic champion in the epee team tournament.
